Believe it or not, some of the healthful remedies we seek may just be found in our kitchen cupboards like honey and cinnamon.
A lot has been said about food being able to help heal certain diseases and illnesses. The fact of the matter is, is that its true. Honey and cinnamon for instance are just two of the most helpful of foodstuffs and are said to help alleviate several conditions. The following are just some of the conditions that both honey and cinnamon, and some of the other stuff you can find in the kitchen, may heal.
Arthritis sufferers can make the following remedy using one part of honey, two parts of water and a small teaspoon of cinnamon powder. Make a paste combining all three and massage on the arthritic area. Pain usually recedes in a minute or two.
Alopecia sufferers rejoice. A paste of hot olive oil, a tablespoon of honey, and one teaspoon of cinnamon powder applied before taking a bath may help prevent hair loss. Keep the paste on for at least 15 minutes before washing the hair.
Mix two tablespoons of cinnamon powder and one teaspoon of honey in a glass of lukewarm water and drink it. Honeys germicidal and antibacterial properties are supposedly able to kill the germs in the bladder.
Honey for a toothache? You bet. Make a paste of one teaspoon cinnamon powder and five teaspoon of honey and apply on the aching tooth. Apply three times daily until the pain subsides.
Mix two tablespoon of honey, three teaspoons of cinnamon powder in 16 ounces of tea water. It can supposedly reduce the level of cholesterol in the body by 10 percent within 2 hours.
Those suffering from severe colds may alleviate their condition by taking 1 tablespoon of lukewarm honey with ¼ teaspoon cinnamon powder, daily, for three days.
Infertile couples are advised to take honey before sleeping. Men for instance are supposedly able to strengthen their semen through this habit. The same goes for women whose uterus is weak, as honey strengthens a woman’s womb.
Honey taken with cinnamon powder is a surefire cure for stomachaches. It also supposedly clears and cures ulcers.
A paste of honey and cinnamon powder used in lieu of jelly or jam for breakfast is a delicious way of curing heart disease in the long term. It is supposed to reduce cholesterol and may help stop heart attacks.
Cinnamon powder sprinkled on two tablespoons of honey before eating, helps relieve acidity and aids in digesting heavy meals.
Tea made with honey and cinnamon powder, when taken regularly may help arrest the ravages of old age. Here’s the recipe: Take 4 tablespoon of honey, 1 tablespoon of cinnamon powder, and 3 cups of water. Boil to make a tea-like drink. Drink ¼ cup of honey-cinnamon tea, 3 to 4 times a day. It may help keep the skin fresh and soft aside from increasing ones longevity.
