Here are some practical dessert tips that will surely help you in coming out with that perfect sweet treat!

  1. The clean grill from a barbecue makes a great extra cooling rack for baked goods.

  2. If you are making a recipe calling for a ground nuts, grinding them with a little sugar from the recipe will keep them from becoming too sticky and oily.

  3. The best and fastest way to cool sauces and other liquids, especially when making desserts, is to place container holding the hot sauce in another, larger container that is partially filled with ice and water. Stir the sauce frequently, to accelerate cooling time.

  4. To avoid breaking and crumbling, cool bar cookies completely before cutting.

  5. When shelling pecans, if you want them to come out whole, pour some boiling water over the pecans and let them sit for thirty minutes before cracking.
