Do you want to know how to avoid food poisoning. It's easy! Here are some tips that could spell the difference between living healthful and uneventful life and one of suffering and distress.

  • Clean, clean and clean.
Thoroughly wash the implements to be used in food preparation like knives, chopping boards, plates and bowls. Some pathogens easily proliferate especially in unclean environments.

  • Fresh food doesn't necessarily mean safe food.
Some foodstuffs need to be cooked adequately for these to be safely consumed. Also determine the sources of most foodstuffs, if the source can guarantee cleanliness and safety then by all means patronize their products.

  • Consider the expiry dates.
Check the listed expiry date on the packaging and follow accordingly.

  • Heat canned items.
Although most canned items are safe to eat "from the can," it's much better to heat these items before consuming them.
