for a potluck to succeed, make sure everyone is informed beforehand of what each
person will bring. This will avoid duplication of dishes.
Themes will make it easy to think of what kind of food to bring. For instance,
consider a pasta party or an all-Filipino picnic as themes. Do be considerate
though, try to remember if anyone in the group has an allergy to a certain food
(e.g. seafood), before making a choice.
