Summer Picnic Tips

We're all going on a summer holiday, and it's customary for Filipinos to bring along food. But how does one go about it? Here are a few tips:

Consider "potluck". For bigger groups, it's ideal to consider potluck for outings. However, in order for a potluck to succeed, make sure everyone is informed beforehand of what each person will bring. This will avoid duplication of dishes.

Consider a theme. Themes will make it easy to think of what kind of food to bring. For instance, consider a pasta party or an all-Filipino picnic as themes. Do be considerate though, try to remember if anyone in the group has an allergy to a certain food (e.g. seafood), before making a choice.

Choose the appropriate food container to use. Food in picnics should satisfy all those present. As such, food containers should consider capacity (quantity), how liquid tight it is (no leaks or spills), the ability to keep food warm and fresh, and convenience.
