Austrian Jam Cookies2018-02-07
½ cup butter, softened
½ cup white sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 pc. egg (separated)
1-¼ cups all-purpose flour, sifted
2/3 cups nuts, chopped
Beat butter, sugar, vanilla and eggyolk in medium size bowl until fluffy. Stir in flour.
Gather dough into 1" -balls. Chill dough for several hours. Dip balled dough into slightly beaten eggwhite. Roll in nuts.
Press middle of the dough with the thumb. Fill the pressed portion of the dough with jam. Place cookie in ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350ºF for 30 minutes or until done.
