Butter Pecan Pie

Ingredients:

1 pie crust, ready-made
1-½ cups whole or chopped pecans
1 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp. salt
3 tbsps. Butter, softened
1 cup corn syrup (white)
3 eggs (fresh), slightly beaten
1 tsp. vanilla extract
whipped cream slightly-sweetened

 

Method

Step 1

Put about ½ of the chopped pecans in the pie shell. Combine salt and pepper. Cream together with the butter.

Step 2

Add the slightly beaten eggs, corn syrup and vanilla extract. Pour this mixture over the pecans. Pour the rest of the pecans in. Press with a large spoon (or spatula) .

Step 3

Bake at 325ºF for 50 minutes. Cool on a rack and serve with whipped cream (slightly sweetened) if desired.
