Century Tuna Poppers



2 cups potato, cooked & mashed
1 can (184 gms.) can Century Tuna Hot n’ Spicy, drained
1/4 cup spring onions, chopped
1/4 cup all purpose flour
2 eggs
1 tsp. rock salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 cup extra all purpose flour for dredging
4 cups Top Choice canola or corn oil
1 bottle sweet chili sauce
lettuce-lined plate
cocktail toothpicks
small ice cream scooper
Tork paper napkins


Step 1

Mix the first six ingredients in a big bowl with a wooden spoon.

Step 2

Line a 14"x16"x1" -tray with bake paper.

Step 3

Scoop out the mixture using the ice cream scooper and roll each ball in flour.

Step 4

Arrange on the tray.

Step 5

Heat the oil in a deep pan and drop poppers and cook until light brown.

Step 6

Retrieve with a slotted strainer and drain on Tork paper napkin.

Step 7

Raise fire to medium.

Step 8

Transfer poppers onto lettuce-lined plate and stick cocktail toothpicks on each.

Step 9

Serve with sweet chili sauce.

Step 10

Note: Other variants like Century Tuna Calamansi may be used. For Beef Poppers, use the same recipe except use 1 can (170 gms. ) Argentina Meat Load, diced; 1/4 cup cheddar cheese, diced instead of 1/4 cup spring onions. Serve with Sandwich Spread in a sauceboat.
