Grilled Mozzarella and Prosciuto Sandwiches



½ cup mozzarella cheese
¼ cup ricotta cheese
½ cup prosciutto, cut into strips
1 pc. tomato, seeded and chopped
1 pc. beaten egg
6 slices bread (white, whole wheat or rye)
1 tbsp. unsalted butter
1 tbsp. olive oil
salt & pepper to taste




Step 1

Combine mozzarella, ricotta, proscuito, tomato and egg in a bowl; mix well and season to taste.

Step 2

Spread mixture onto three bread slices and top with the remaining bread.

Step 3

Heat butter and oil in a large bowl skillet over medium heat.

Step 4

Add sandwiches until golden and cheese has melted for about 2 minutes on each side. Serve hot.
