Jozu Kamameshi



90 gms. Prepared rice
180 ml Kamameshi sauce
20 gms. Carrots, sliced
20 gms. Camote, sliced
20 gms. Baguio beans, slliced
20 gms. Shrimps, cooked
20 gms. Beef strips, cooked
20 gms. Chicken strips, cooked

Kamameshi sauce:

1170 ml water
90 ml. Japanese soy sauce
7.5 gms hondashi
90 ml. mirin



Step 1

To make sauce: In a pan, boil water with hondashi; add soy sauce and mirin; stir continuously, simmer. Set aside.

Step 2

To prepare kamameshi rice: Soak rice in a bowl with water for 12 hours at the most. After soaking, put in a kamameshi kettle, add kamameshi sauce and allow to boil until rice is done. Add vegetables and let boil. Remove from fire. Top with shrimps, beef and chicken before serving. Put kamameshi kettle in a kamameshi box. Serve hot.
