Tuna Meatballs Spaghetti



150 gms. spaghetti

For the tuna balls:
1 (184 gms.) can tuna chunks in vegetable oil, drained
¼ cup onions, finely chopped
¼ cup carrots, grated
1 tbsp. pickle relish
1 cup dry breadcrumbs
2 eggs
½ tsp. salt
¼ tsp. pepper
½ cup cooking oil for frying

For the sauce:
2 tbsps. cooking oil
2 tsps. garlic, chopped
½ cup onion, chopped
1 cup tomato sauce
2 tbsps. sugar
½ tsp. salt
¼ tsp. pepper
½ cup cheese, grated


Step 1

Cook the spaghetti as package directs; set aside. Combine tuna, onions, carrots, pickle relish, breadcrumbs, eggs, salt and pepper. Mix well.

Step 2

Scoop ½ tablespoon of mixture and form into a ball. Repeat procedure using remaining mixture. Heat ½ cup cooking oil and fry tuna balls until golden in color. Drain in paper towels; set aside. Heat remaining 2 tablespoons cooking oil. Saute garlic and onion.

Step 3

Add tomato sauce, sugar, salt and pepper. Simmer for about 3 minutes to allow flavors to blend. Add cooked spaghetti and serve with garlic bread on the side.
